Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard REVIEW

In this blog post you will find my review of my Corsair K70 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard.

This review is solely a personal opinion and my own observations and experiences when using this keyboard over the course of the last 2 or so years.

The review contains both the pros and cons of this particular keyboard, as well as a conclusion and whether or not i’d recommend it for others.

Above you can see my video review of this keyboard, however if you’d like it in written form then keep on reading this blog post for a full in-depth review of this keyboard.

Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard review from a real user

Let’s start with the overall functions of this keyboard.

So right off the bat, this keyboard is labeled as a “gaming keyboard”, but in my opinion it is not just suited for gaming, but also extremely suited for work related tasks, or simply writing longer texts.

The keyboard is fitted with various controls such as a media control panel in the upper right corner, where you can pause, resume, change song or volume.

This is very handy, especially when you’re in a game since you don’t have to minimize the game to change song.

On the opposite side of the keyboard you’ll find a small panel which is mainly used for controlling the lighting in the keyboard.

You can set up the lighting in this keyboard in any way you want by downloading the Corsair software to do so.

For example, you can create your own color pattern, or simply light up specific keys you want.

When it comes to comfortability, the keyboard has a very nice resting module for your wrists/hands which is made in a material that is surprisingly soft, but at the same time very sturdy.

The keyboard is also very resistant to spillage, since the keys are built in a way that allows very minimal water to enter the inside of the keyboard.

I have experienced spilling almost an entire cup of water on the keyboard, but all the keys still function quite well.

Taking off the keys for cleaning is also extremely simple, and requires very little effort, and they are just as easy to attach again after they’ve been cleaned.

Pros of the Corsair K70 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

The keyboard is mechanical, but is extremely silent compared to any other mechanical keyboard i’ve tried, meaning it won’t disturb your work flow if you choose to use it for that purpose.

For gaming, the keyboard is obviously well suited since it’s what it was made for.

The buttons are extremely comfortable and press down incredibly easy, without any effort whatsoever.

It can get some time to get used to the fact that the buttons react a lot faster than a regular keyboard, but once you get into the rhythm, you’ll most likely see improvements to your overall keyboard abilities.

Overall the keyboard feels extremely comfortable both when you have your wrists resting on it, but also when you type on it.

It is extremely easy on your fingers, and feels weirdly soft when you press the keys.

Cons of the Corsair K70 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Overall this keyboard has very few flaws in my eyes, however there is one thing that annoys me slightly.

For some reason the material this keyboard is made in is very good at collecting dust, and the dust it collects sticks quite well.

I’ve found myself cleaning this keyboard more than other keyboards i’ve used over the years, but the pros outweigh this heavily in my opinion.

Another con for some people could be the price this keyboard(and other mechanical keyboards) has.

When i bought it, it was around 140 USD which for some can be quite expensive for a keyboard, however this particular keyboard is probably available on various sales, since it’s not the newest model anymore.

Is the Corsair K70 RGB Keyboard Worth it?

Overall i’d definitely recommend this keyboard to anyone who enjoys a very smooth and effective mechanical keyboard, with extremely minimal noise generation compared to other mechanical keyboards.
