If you’re in the market for a new keyboard, you might want to consider the Logitech MX Keys
I’ve been using this keyboard for an entire year now, daily using this keyboard is the best test possible –and I’ve got a lot to say about it.
But before I dive in, let me give you a quick rundown of some of the standout features of the Logitech MX Keys:
- Multi-functionality: This keyboard can be used with multiple computers at the same time
- Logitech Lightspeed technology: Low latency and faster-than-average wireless speed.
- Excellent battery life: Long-lasting battery that only needs to be charged occasionally.
Now, onto my thoughts after using the Logitech MX Keys for a full year.
The main reason I purchased this keyboard was for its Lightspeed technology, which has a latency of just 1 millisecond.
As a casual gamer, I was attracted to the low latency and fast wireless speed, which is even faster than some wired keyboards.
And as an added bonus, the Lightspeed technology uses less power than Bluetooth, which might contribute to the excellent battery life of this keyboard.
Logitech MX keys Battery Life
In fact, the battery life of the Logitech MX Keys has been one of the standout features for me. I can’t even remember how many times I’ve charged it in the past year, but it’s definitely been fewer than 10 times.
This is impressive considering I often use the keyboard with the backlight turned on, and the backlight has a tendency to turn on by itself even when I don’t need it.
According to the logitech website – the battery life is 10 days with Backlight turned on – but an impressive 5 months, with backlights turned off.
So it makes sense that i feel like i have not even charged the keyboard 10 times during 1 year. – because i haven’t
Even when you have to charge the keyboard – it simply charges very fast via USB-C

Logitech MX keys (maybe) flaws
But the Logitech MX Keys isn’t without its flaws.
After using it for a full year, I’ve noticed that the buttons have started to feel a bit soft.
It’s possible that this has always been the case, but I’ve only just noticed it after reviewing other, more expensive mechanical keyboards.
Additionally, I’m not sure how to properly clean the keyboard as it tends to collect dust, fingerprints, and even food crumbs.
At one point, I even dropped a nail inside the keyboard and had some issues with certain buttons not registering when pressed. I know i should not be dropping nails into my keyboard, but biting nails is a bad habit of mine – yours could maybe be eating in front of the computer. – Cleaning could be an issue.
Despite these issues, I keep coming back to the Logitech MX Keys because of the Lightspeed technology and the excellent battery life.
It’s a reliable keyboard that has held up well after a lot of use.
If you have any tips on how to clean it, please leave a comment on my YouTube channel or in the discord.
In summary, the Logitech MX Keys is a lightweight, reliable keyboard with excellent battery life and fast wireless speed thanks to the Lightspeed technology. While it’s not without its flaws, it’s a solid choice for anyone in need of a new keyboard.
5 Reasons Logitech Lightspeed technology is very good
#1 Low latency:
One of the biggest benefits of Logitech Lightspeed technology is its low latency, or the delay between when you press a key and when it registers on your device.
With a latency of just 1 millisecond, you’ll barely notice any delay at all when using a keyboard with Lightspeed technology.
This makes it great for gaming or any other tasks that require fast, responsive input.
#2 Faster wireless speed:
In addition to low latency, Logitech Lightspeed technology also offers faster-than-average wireless speed.
This means you can expect a smoother, more responsive experience when using a keyboard with this technology.
#3 Better power efficiency:
Another advantage of Lightspeed technology is its power efficiency.
According to Logitech, it uses less power than Bluetooth, which means you can go longer between charges.
This is especially convenient if you’re using your keyboard on the go or don’t have easy access to a charger. As previously mentioned – i don’t charge my Logitech MX Keys every month.
#4 Stronger signal:
Logitech Lightspeed technology is designed to provide a strong, reliable signal even when you’re using your keyboard at a distance from your device. This means you won’t have to worry about connectivity issues or dropped signals when you’re working or gaming.
#5 Easy setup:
oh – boy,
This is one of the reasons i really have bluetooth.
If you ever bothered with bluetooth set-ups, you are going to love this technology.
Setting up a keyboard with Logitech Lightspeed technology is easy and straightforward.
Simply plugin the USB-A dongle, and you’ll be ready – it takes 5 seconds
